Limited and uninnovative gaming experience on Google Playground
Problem
Users note that Google Playground offers only a narrow range of simple endless games, lacking genuine AI‑driven innovation; the platform is also inaccessible due to a 403 error, and there is skepticism about Google owning a gaming platform.
Pain points
- Limited game variety, only simple endless games
- Lack of genuine AI innovation, feels like classic Flash games
- Platform access blocked by 403 error
- Skepticism about Google owning a gaming platform
Questions to verify
- Would you be willing to pay for such a platform?
- What new game genres would users most like to see?
- How much does platform accessibility affect the overall experience?

I may just like games too much, but I can't take this seriously in its current form. This feels like one of the old and basic 'build your own game' toolboxes for non-developers, but with AI - not an 'AI game engine'. It shows that even the demos they made for the trailer are all simplistic endless games that remind me of average Flash games with a different coat of paint. When your entire "game idea" can be expressed in two sentences, it's going to get old fast. There's only so many endless runners, trivia and single screen 'move from point to point' games one can tolerate. I can't see this specific product having any impact on the gaming industry, despite many people here already talking about the industry at large.

How long until someone makes a tiktok-style game platform?Play a little game, then when you're done it generates a new one based on what you've enjoyed. Repeat ad infinitum.

We've hosted an AI game development platform for a while now and found there's a big difference between "making a game" and "making a fun game". I'd love to see if they are solving the real problem, but the link to try it out is a 403 for me.

I'm okay with Google offering models, but I'm not okay with Google offering more PaaS offerings.Let developers use your models and tools and build stuff with it. Why own everything.Google has too much already and in my opinion they have no business owning a gaming platform.
