Convert a 4G hotspot into a standalone device that can directly view SMS and OTP
Problem
Users want to view SMS and one-time verification codes without relying on a phone, currently they must insert a SIM into a phone or use a laptop's hotspot web interface; existing $20 4G hotspot devices have small battery capacity, short runtime, and lack a dedicated text display interface, making them inconvenient.
Pain points
- Need to view SMS and OTP without using a phone
- Existing hotspot devices have small battery capacity and short battery life
- Lack a dedicated text display interface
Questions to verify
- Would you be willing to pay extra for such a device?
- Do you need the device to directly display SMS and OTP without relying on a phone or computer?
- What battery life target do you have in mind, such as several weeks of use?
Evidence
quote · @匿名
I often ditch my phone and carry my hotspot device for my internet. The only drawback is that for viewing my texts and OTPs i end up putting the sim in my phone or opening up the web interface on my laptop. This seems to work very well as a dumbphone per se.
fact
the battery setup there already seems to be basically a 1S li ion
